Overview
Edgelog Trading (“Edgelog”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the trading journal available at edgelogtrading.com (the “Service”). Edgelog is a record-keeping and journaling tool only — it is used to log, organize, and review your trading activity. No trading, order placement, or execution takes place on or through the Service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
We built Edgelog to be private by default: your trades, journal entries, and notes belong to you, are scoped to your account, and can be exported or deleted at any time.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the Service:
- Account information. When you sign up with email or Google, we receive your email address and name. Authentication is handled by our provider (Supabase Auth); we never store your password in plain text.
- Profile details. Optional information you choose to add, such as your display name, phone number, bio, and mailing address.
- Trading data. Trades, account balances, equity, and open positions that you import or that are synced from MetaTrader 4/5 through our Expert Advisor (EA), along with the symbols, prices, volumes, and timestamps they contain.
- Journal & playbook content. Notes, ratings, tags, mindset entries, strategies, and chart screenshots you upload.
- Reviews & feedback. Any testimonial or feedback you submit, including the display name you provide.
- Usage & device data. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., page views and performance metrics) and standard server logs used to operate and secure the Service.
Edgelog connects to MetaTrader using a read-only sync via the EA and your personal API key. We do not ask for, and do not need, a password that can place or modify trades on your broker account.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the journal, analytics, and sync features.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To sync, store, and display your trades, journal entries, and performance analytics.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
We do not use your trading data to make trades, and we do not sell your personal information.
How your data is stored and protected
Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers (see below). Every user table is protected by row-level security so that you can only access your own records. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and your EA API key is used solely to authenticate sync requests to your account.
We apply industry-standard safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API key confidential.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (your account, trades, journal, and chart images).
- Google — optional “Sign in with Google” authentication.
- Vercel — application hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We share only what is necessary for them to perform their function.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We use aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics to understand overall usage and performance. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights and choices
- Access & portability. View your data in the app and export your trades as CSV at any time.
- Correction. Update your profile and journal content directly in Settings and the workspace.
- Deletion. Disconnect accounts, delete individual trades, or delete your entire account and its associated data from Settings.
- Withdraw consent. Disconnect Google sign-in or remove the EA sync at any time.

Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your associated trades, journal entries, notes, and chart images are removed from our active systems. Limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Children’s privacy
Edgelog is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will remove it.
International data transfers
Our providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect your information during such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice within the Service.
