Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about pricing, sync, and exporting your data.
Yes. The core journal, analytics, and playbook features are free. There is no hidden paywall or upgrade prompt.
You can use the EA sync method or import a CSV/exported report from your MetaTrader account. Setup takes under 5 minutes.
Live EA sync needs the desktop MetaTrader terminal (Windows/macOS) — the MT4/MT5 mobile apps do not support Expert Advisors, so they cannot run the sync. If you only trade on mobile, you can still keep your journal up to date by importing your account statement/CSV (export it from the MT5 web terminal in your phone browser or from desktop), or by adding trades manually. For hands-free syncing, run the EA on a Windows VPS.
You can use manual imports or API-based sync. Use a read-only investor password only if you choose to connect that way — we never ask for write access.
Yes. MT5/MT4 CSV and report exports can be imported into the journal and will populate your analytics and equity curve retroactively.
Binance and ByBit are supported in the account connection flow, with more exchanges planned.
Yes. Trades can be exported as CSV from the trades page at any time. Your data is always yours.
The web app is responsive and works well on mobile browsers. A dedicated mobile app is on the roadmap.
On the free plan you can connect 1 trading account of any type (an MT4/MT5 account, a Binance, Bybit or OKX connection, or a CSV/Excel import) and store up to 10,000 trades. If you signed up before 12 October 2026, you keep the earlier limits: 3 accounts, one of each type, and 50,000 stored trades. Pro raises these limits. The Edgelog team switches it on manually: there is no checkout in the app, no card is stored and nothing renews automatically.
Download the free EdgelogSync Expert Advisor from Settings, copy it into your MetaTrader Experts folder and allow WebRequest for https://edgelogtrading.com in the terminal options. Attach the EA to any chart and paste your personal Edgelog API key into its inputs. Closed trades are sent to your journal as they close, and the balance updates every few minutes while the terminal is running. The EA runs only in the desktop terminal; the MetaTrader mobile apps cannot run Expert Advisors.
Create an API key on Binance, Bybit or OKX with read-only access, leaving trading and withdrawal permissions switched off, then add the key and secret in Edgelog (OKX also asks for the passphrase you set on the key). Edgelog uses the key only to read your balance and trade history; it never places, changes or closes orders. The secret and passphrase are encrypted before they are stored. Exchange accounts are recorded in USDT.
If your broker can export your trade history, you can usually import it. Edgelog accepts CSV and Excel files (.csv, .xlsx, .xls) as well as MT4/MT5 HTML statements. It recognises common column names, lets you map the rest yourself and previews which rows are valid before anything is saved. Rows it cannot read are listed and skipped instead of guessed, and you can undo the latest import from Settings.
Trades the account already holds are not added again. Rows with a ticket or order number are matched on that number and updated in place. Rows without one are matched on their trade details and left exactly as they are, so edits you made are kept. Only trades the account does not have yet are added, and the import summary shows how many were new, updated or already imported.
By the reporting timezone saved in your profile. Calendar days, daily and weekly P&L, streaks and “today” all follow it. Until you choose one, Edgelog uses UTC and shows a prompt offering your device’s timezone. You can change it at any time in Settings → Profile, and your days are regrouped to match. Market session hours stay in UTC, and journal entries keep their original dates.
No. Every amount is shown in the currency of the account it belongs to, and nothing is converted. MT4/MT5 accounts use the currency reported by the terminal, Binance, Bybit and OKX accounts use USDT, and new CSV/Excel import accounts use USD. When a view includes accounts in different currencies, totals and profit factor are listed per currency rather than added together; choose a single account to see every money figure.
Each trade is judged on its net result after fees: above zero is a win, below zero is a loss, and exactly zero to the cent is breakeven. Win rate is wins divided by wins plus losses, so breakeven trades count neither for nor against it, although they still count in total trades and net P&L. Profit factor is the net profit of winners divided by the net loss of losers; with no losing trades it shows “—”.
You can correct trades you logged by hand and CSV/Excel imports without a ticket number: symbol, side, prices, size, P&L, fees and times. Trades synced by the EA or an exchange, and imports with ticket numbers, follow your broker’s records and are refreshed by the next sync or re-import, so they cannot be edited here. Any trade can be deleted, though a synced trade may return if it is sent again. You can add notes and tags to every trade.
Edgelog does not ask for your MT4/MT5 master password, and the EA only sends trade and account data; it never opens, closes or modifies orders. Exchange API secrets are encrypted before storage. Your trades, notes, screenshots and playbooks are tied to your signed-in account: server routes check who you are before reading or writing private data, and database policies add a second owner check. You can export your trades as CSV and delete your account at any time.
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Hindi. The website and the journal app both change language from the language menu in the top bar, and your choice is remembered in that browser. Blog articles are translated one at a time, and a few newer screens may still show some English while their translations are added.
No. The interactive demo is built from 120 fixed sample trades created for the demo, not from any customer or broker account. You can explore the dashboard, analytics, calendar, journal and playbook without signing up. It is read-only: changes are blocked and it never asks for a login or an API key. If you are already signed in, opening it takes you to your own dashboard.
